Breakfast at hotel. Morning drive to Pemayangtse. This place perched at
a height of 2085 mtrs. is the second oldest and one of the most important
monastery in Sikkim. On the walls of this monastery are thousand of vivid
images of Gods and Demons. The 108 monks living here are from the Bhutia
families of Sikkim. The view of the surrounding mountain ranges from this

We drive to Khecheoparlri Lake. This is the holy lake of the Sikkim people.
We visit the Tashiding Monastery. From here we drive to the sacred spot
of Yuksam. This place is nestled in a pine forested area with crystal
clear mountain lakes. A stupa marks the spot where three Lama performed

Morning visit to the Shankar and Shanti Stupa. We continue to Spituk Gompa,
built 500 years ago. This monastery is the seat of the head Lama of Ladakh,
now contains a new Gompa within its walls and exquisite Tankas (Tibetan
cloth paintings). It also contains an exceptional collection of old masks.

05 : LEH / SHEY.TIKSE / HEMIS / LEH
Situated on a hillock 15 Kms. upstream from Leh, lies Shey the
fifteenth century summer place and monastery that belongs to the royal
family of Leh. Inside is the largest Buddha statue in Ladakh 40 feet high.
The next attraction is the 800 years old Thiksey Gompa. There are 10 temples
containing more great relics and fine wall paintings. Afternoon we visit
the Hemis Gompa. Built in the 1600. This monastery is an imposing architectural
wonder. It is one of the wealthiest, best known and biggest Gompa of Ladakh.

Morning drive to Uletopko. Enroute visit Alchi monastery. Here one can
see a collection of Gigantic painted clay statues of the Buddha and hundreds
of other small paintings, 1000 years old. Uletopko is on a river bank.

07 : ULETOPKO / LAMAYARU / ULETOPKO
Morning drive to Lamayaru. Full day visit of Lumayaru monastery. O/N at

The climb is gradual. The pass itself is a level stretch of 8 Kms. With
a small lake at the Top. From here the snow covered peaks of the Barashigri,
Chandrabhaga and Mulkila ranges towering well above 6000 Mts. Are visible.
We reach the checkpost of Darcha and then to jispa where the camp is set
for the night.

145 Kms 6/8 Hrs)
The road gose past Keylong. Following the Chandra River the journey takes
us to the confluence of Baga. The landscapes changes dramatically from
the barren hillsides to the greenery landscape. We pass the Lahoel Valley
and then the road winds up to the Rothang Jot and then on to Manali. O/N

Morning visit Manali Town which is quite scenic, surrounded by pine trees.
